On May 11th, 2024, Andrew and his father, Edward Gick were enjoying a campfire while chatting and spending quality time by just hanging out with each other. Andrew went to get more fire wood and upon his return, he found his father laying and struggling to get out of the fire. Andrew struggled but was able get his father out of the roaring fire. He snuffed out the flaming flesh, clothing and hair on his father without any thought of the burns he himself had received.
Eddie was Life flighted to one of the leading hospitals for serious burns, where it was determined 75% of his body was severely burned and was extremely critical. He fought like the warrior I know him to be but after 9 days he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Because of my son saving him, many loved ones,friends, and family were able to see him one last time and say goodbye.
I believe Andrew is a hero and needs to be recognized!!
