Of course I believe that my mum deserves the whole world but I think that it is time that other people recognise this to. My mum lives in an incredible amount of pain each day caused by a condition called syringomyelia. This basically means that there was a lot of brain fluid in her spinal cord that crushed her nerves and has caused crippling nerve damage in her shoulder. It comes as a shock to people when they see her crippled over in pain each day but to us it’s always been normal, well now I think it’s time to make my mum realise how brave she is for living with this. Most people would give up, but not my mum. She has worked for the NHS for many years and has always been dedicated to helping others. My mum currently works in clinical research and what an amazing job she does. There are nights where she only sleeps for an hour or two before she is awake in pain once again, but she is so dedicated to her job and helping others that she never gives up. My mum never says ‘no’ and she never gives up despite her struggles and she deserves to be recognised after living this way for over 20 years! My mum is a hero and this would not only mean the world to me and my family but it will also make her realise that this is not ‘normal’ and she is superwoman for living the way she does!
