My daughter Violet is truly awesome! In the past year she has tirelessly volunteered to help Spokane's homeless community, all while fighting her own chronic illnesses. At only 8 years old, she has donated over 500 hours of her time, 5,000 pounds of food, $4,000, thousands of hygiene items, 70 pairs of shoes, and more! She has sponsored over 900 full meals, and has handed out thousands of snack bags. She is down almost every week handing out items under the bridge in downtown Spokane. Each week she serves between 200-300 of Spokane's neediest citizens. And she does it all with a smile on her face. Violet has never once treated any of these individuals as anything less than a friend. She approaches them without fear or reproach. Violet is an inspiration to others, and she has rallied many of her friends and their families to join the cause as well. Violet is awesome!
