Andrei is an amazing kid. He was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at the age of 5 and since than he has been giving back to the world. He has raised over $50,000 for Help Fill A Dream a local childrens charity, he is a youth advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and he does all this all the while attending school and being 14! Andrei has recently won a citizenship award and philanthropy award. He has travelled to Ottawa on three occasions to meet with MPs and Senators and the Health Minister in the hopes of getting more money to put into research for Type One. Andrei is well known in the community for fundraising and volunteering. He truly is awesome in every way. He started his fundraising with Handstands busking downtown and more recently he has set up recycling bins on his farmstand at home. When Andrei is not giving back to the community he can usually be found with a soccer ball playing his favorite sport or playing with his diabetic alert dog Beryl.
