The Awesome Awards - Pay it Forward

pay it forward

As a recipient of an Awesome Award, you have the honour and responsibility of bestowing it onto the next awesome person and completing the circle. Recognition is all about showing people that they are valued and appreciated. Presenting them with an Awesome Award simply provides you with an opportunity to say something special and show them that they are valued.

So think about making your presentation special - but don’t overthink it, just follow your heart and have fun with it! After all, it’s not everyday that you get to present an Awesome Award! Use your imagination and creativity and all the things that make you awesome and then pay it forward! Once you’ve made your presentation, come back and step into history by logging your awesome experience.Thank you for helping to celebrate all that is awesome!
By making your presentation awesome, you’ll contribute to the legend of the Awesome Awards and make it even more special to the recipient. Once you’ve decided who to present your award to, there are 3 things to consider:
1

think of what you’re going to say

When recognizing someone, express the specific things that you appreciate about them and why they matter. This will add weight and meaning to your recognition because it is thoughtful and personal. Also, recognition isn’t about being practiced and polished, it’s about sincerity, making eye contact and speaking from your heart. Expect silent pauses, amazement, tears of joy and big hugs - we’re talking about real people here!

2

consider how you’re going to say it

Now that you have your message, how are you going to convey it? In person presentations are the best, but you might choose to make a video or record a song or maybe even write a letter and mail it. Try to take some pictures or ask someone to help record the event because special moments can feel like they pass quickly.

3

decide where you’re going to say it

Where you choose to present your award will add to the recipient’s experience. You may prefer a small private gathering with only a few people, or you might organize a big party or public gathering - it’s up to you. Just try to think of what the recipient would be comfortable with and appreciate.
